In November 1995, China Great Wall Securities (“CGWS”) was approved by People's Bank of China, established on the basis of the merger of securities institutions owned by the former Shenzhen Great Wall Securities Business Department and Hainan Huitong International Trust and Investment Company. CGWS was formally established in May 1996, registered on the 16th-17th floor of Shenzhen Special Economic Zone Newspaper Building, No. 6008 Shennan Avenue, Futian District, Guangdong Province, with Mr. Cao Hong as the company legal representative. In April 2015, CGWS changed forms of its business entity to stock corporation. On October 26 2018, China Great Wall Securities Co., Ltd. issued shares to the public for the very first time and listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange (security code: 002939).
Up to now, CGWS has more than 3000 employees, with over 10 branches in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Hangzhou and other places together with more than 100 sales departments in major cities in China. The company is also a holding company of a number of subsidiaries, such as Baocheng Futures Co., Ltd., China Great Wall Securities Investment Co., Ltd., China Great Wall Changfu Investment Management Co., Ltd., and the main shareholder of Great Wall Fund Management Co., Ltd. and Invesco Great Wall Fund Management Co., Ltd.
Huaneng Capital Services Corporation Ltd. is the largest shareholder of CGWS, the actual controller of which is China Huaneng Group Co., Ltd. Other shareholders of the company include ShenzhenEnergy Group Co., Ltd. , Shenzhen Xinjiangnan Investment Co., Ltd., China National Nuclear Finance Co., Ltd., Sichuan Changhong Electronics Holding Group Co., Ltd. and other large state-owned companies.
